Prayer for the World Day of the Sick

Loving and merciful God,
You are the source of all life and healing.
In Your compassion, look with kindness
upon all who suffer in body, mind, or spirit.

We entrust to You the sick and the frail,
those burdened by chronic illness,
those nearing the end of life,
and all who feel forgotten or alone in their pain.
Grant them comfort, courage, and peace,
and let them know they are never abandoned by Your love.

Bless doctors, nurses, caregivers, and all who serve the suffering.
Strengthen their hands, enlighten their minds,
and fill their hearts with patience and compassion,
that they may be instruments of Your healing grace.

Through the intercession of Our Lady of Lourdes,
bring hope to the afflicted,
relief to those in pain,
and consolation to all who carry heavy crosses.

We ask this through Christ our Lord,
who took upon himself our suffering
and leads us to the promise of new life.
