NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES
“No one is more cherished in this world than someone who
lightens the burden of another.”
~ Joseph Addison ~
Not all heroes wear capes. Many are volunteers who quietly give their time to help others without expecting
anything in return. They are the people serving meals to those in need, visiting the lonely, helping at schools
and community events, supporting charities or simply being there when someone needs a hand.
Volunteers often step in where help is needed most. They dedicate their time and energy because they want
to make life a little easier for someone else. Their actions may seem small, but to the person receiving that
help, they can mean everything.
What makes volunteers special is their willingness to care. They remind us that kindness still matters and that
one person really can make a difference. Many communities would struggle without the quiet support of
volunteers working behind the scenes each day.
They may never make headlines or receive awards, but their compassion touches lives in ways they may never
fully see. Not all heroes wear capes – some simply show up with a kind heart and a willingness to help.

Dear Lord, we give thanks for volunteers who show up when help is needed. Bless their work, their hands and
their hearts. May they feel appreciated and supported as they care for those around them. Amen.
