Responding to the financial crises and homelessness, we are called to sign the petition for Everybody’s Home.
We are being asked to support the 116,000 Australians who sadly are homeless. The call coincides with Homelessness Week which runs until Sunday.
The theme is ‘To end homelessness we need a plan.’
An affordable housing campaign has been developed targeting government and community groups. Homelessness is on the rise due to the affordable housing crisis that has major implications for people’s mental health and wellbeing. People are being asked to lobby the federal Treasurer and their local MPs to make housing more affordable for low and modest-income earners and their families.
Many families have no option but to persevere when they hit a rough patch, and look for government and community support to ease their ongoing financial pressures. The increase in interest rates, and cost of living has impacted families across the country, and reportedly will continue to for years to come.
During Homelessness Week, we are also invited to be charitable to our neighbours. You can share your stories and details are available at: www.everybodyshome.com.au
Please sign this petition now so we can all make a difference and assist people who are struggling.
