INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY

“The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow.”

~ Nelson Mandela ~

International Youth Day is a chance to recognise young people and the important part they

play in shaping our future.

Growing up today can bring many challenges. Young people face pressure at school and work,

uncertainty about what lies ahead and the demands of an ever-changing world. Despite this,

they bring fresh ideas, energy and a strong desire to make a difference.

Every young person has something valuable to offer. Finding the right path may take time,

but along the way they discover more about themselves, what is important to them and

what they want to achieve in life.

Young people also need encouragement. When we listen to them, believe in their abilities and

give them opportunities to learn and grow, we help build their confidence and give them a

sense of purpose and optimism.

On International Youth Day, let us celebrate the young people in our families, schools, workplaces

and communities. May they have the courage to believe in themselves, learn from their

experiences and use their talents to help create a better world for everyone.

Dear Lord, be close to young people as they make their way through life. Give them wisdom in

the choices they make, strength when times are difficult and the support of those who care

about them. Help them always know that they are loved and never alone. Amen.
