FACING CANCER TOGETHER

“Hope is being able to see that there is light despite all of the darkness.”

~ Desmond Tutu ~

World Cancer Day on February 4 is a time to pause and reflect on how many lives are touched by cancer,

in ways both seen and unseen. It reminds us of the strength people show each day, often quietly, as

they face uncertainty with courage and hope.

For many, cancer is closer to home than we might realise. It can affect a family member, a friend, a

workmate or someone in the wider community. A diagnosis can disrupt daily routines, present new

challenges and weigh heavily on everyday life.

This day also recognises those who care for others – family, friends, carers and health workers – who show

up day after day, offering patience, reassurance and encouragement. Their steady presence makes a real

difference, even when it may go unnoticed.

World Cancer Day encourages us to be more aware, more compassionate and more supportive. Showing

kindness and empathy can help people feel less alone and remind them they are not facing this journey on their own.

COURAGE * HOPE * COMPASSION * KINDNESS * SUPPORT

Heavenly Father, lift the spirits of those facing illness. Give them

strength for today and hope for tomorrow. Amen.
