THE POWER OF PRESENCE - HONOURING PARENTS
“At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child’s success
is the positive involvement of parents.”
~ Jane D Hull ~
Parents aren’t expected to be perfect – just present. That steady presence,
day after day, can change a life.
It’s in the small things – making breakfast when you’re running on empty, driving
around to different activities, sitting close while homework stretches on, having dinner
ready when everyone comes home and offering a quiet smile at the end of
a long day. It’s the way they listen, even when words are few. These simple acts may
seem ordinary, but over time, they build something lasting – trust, love
and a feeling of being safe and protected.
Even when life feels tough or unclear, parents keep going. They hold onto hope – for
their children, their families and whatever’s coming next. Even when they don’t
have all the answers, they keep believing things will work out. They show love by simply
staying close, being kind and always being there, even when it’s difficult.
Today, on Global Day of Parents (June 1), we take a moment to honour every parent,
carer and guardian who gives so much, often without recognition. Thank you for
your constant love, care and attention that gives us a sense of calm and helps
shape who we become.
“YOU ARE DEEPLY LOVED AND VALUED”
Dear God, give parents courage and hope when days are hard. Help them feel Your
peace and love. Bless their efforts and quiet strength. May they know their
love makes a lasting difference. Amen.
