Let the Lord’s light shine

During this extraordinary event, Jesus’ face shone like the sun and His clothes became dazzling white, revealing His divine glory. Moses and Elijah appeared beside Him, representing the Law and the Prophets.

A voice from heaven declared, “This is my beloved Son; listen to Him.”

The Transfiguration strengthened the disciples’ faith by preparing them for Jesus’ suffering, death, and resurrection. It was a reminder that Jesus is the Son of God and the promised Messiah. Today, this feast is an invitation to deepen our faith, trust in God’s plan, and seek spiritual transformation through prayer, reverence, and acts of kindness and love.

It also encourages us to ‘reflect the light of Christ’ in our daily lives by showing compassion and forgiveness to those we might otherwise spurn.

The Feast of the Transfiguration is a celebration of hope, reminding everyone that God’s glory is revealed through Jesus and that all are welcome to share in His everlasting life.
