“It is not what you do for your children, but what you have taught them to do for themselves that will make them successful human beings.” – Ann Landers

Parenting is like tending a garden.  Each child is a unique seed, requiring care, patience and love to grow.  As gardeners, parents nurture their children, providing the essential elements: the water of support, the sunshine of encouragement and the soil of a stable home.  They prune when necessary, guiding their children to shed harmful behaviours and fostering resilience.  Weeds of doubt and fear may sprout, but parents diligently remove them, ensuring their children flourish.  Just as a gardener revels in the blooming of flowers, parents find joy in their children’s achievements, knowing each blossom is a testament to their dedication.  Through storms and seasons, parents stand firm, understanding that every effort, no matter how small, contributes to the beautiful, thriving garden of their children’s lives

Lord, guide us on our parenting journey with wisdom, patience and love.  Help us to nurture our children with Your grace and to lead by example in faith and kindness.  Strengthen us in times of challenge and fill our hearts with joy and gratitude for each moment we share.  May Your presence be our constant support as we raise our children in Your light.  Amen
