Quiz 11 – Communication
Our theme this week is Communication. What does scripture tell us? And how well do you know what scripture tells us?
1 / 3
1. Paul and Timothy had more to say about communicating in their epistle to the Colossians.
Complete this verse: “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to…”
2 Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time pray for us as well that God will open to us a door for the word, that we may declare the mystery of Christ, for which I am in prison, 4 so that I may reveal it clearly, as I should.
5 Conduct yourselves wisely towards outsiders, making the most of the time.[a] Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer everyone.

2. Psalm 18 tells us:
“If one give an answer before hearing …”
If one gives answer before hearing,
it is folly and shame.

3. In Paul’s letter to the Ephesians he says:
“Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that your words may give ______ to those who hear.”
25 So then, putting away falsehood, let all of us speak the truth to our neighbours, for we are members of one another. 26 Be angry but do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not make room for the devil. 28 Thieves must give up stealing; rather let them labour and work honestly with their own hands, so as to have something to share with the needy. 29 Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only what is useful for building up,[b] as there is need, so that your words may give grace to those who hear. 30 And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with which you were marked with a seal for the day of redemption. 31 Put away from you all bitterness and wrath and anger and wrangling and slander, together with all malice, 32 and be kind to one another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ has forgiven you.[c]
