Tragic passing
In the last issue of The Majellan we featured a story about a group of men who meet weekly at a café to discuss the Sunday Gospel readings.
The article, A café latte … then time to reflect included a photo of the men, who participate in one of three MenAlive groups in Brisbane.
Sadly, two weeks after the issue was distributed in March one of the men, Ian Colwell, was killed by an alleged hit and run driver. He was out for an early morning walk when the tragedy occurred.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Ian’s family and friends.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen. Like the seed buried in the ground, you have produced the harvest of eternal life for us; make us always dead to sin and alive to God.
