On Sunday we celebrated the shortest day of the year. It may have been a Sun-Day but here are some funnies to remind you of the day … and the fact we saw less sun!

Jemma was explaining to her younger brother, Pete, about the Winter Solstice.
She says, “The winter solstice results in the longest night of the year because on this day, the Earth’s South Pole is tilted furthest away from the Sun. This tilt causes the Sun to take its lowest and shortest path across the sky, leading to the shortest period of daylight and …” Unimpressed and after some time, Pete interrupts, “Thanks for making the longest night of the year longer by explaining why it’s the longest night of the year.”

A man walks into a bar the day after the winter solstice and orders a triple vodka.
The bartender asks, “Is everything alright?”
The man sighs and says, “It’s been a long night.”

What do you call a party on the winter solstice?
A cool gathering!

Today is the shortest day of the year.
Don’t worry, it’ll pass quickly!

What’s the difference between the Winter Solstice and a really bad dad joke?
One lasts less than 24 hours, the other seems like an eternity.

A man is going to a solstice party at his in-laws.
He says, “Wish me luck, it’s going to be a long night.”

A moth and a flame have a very toxic relationship that peaks every June 21.
Moth: “You’re never around long enough!”
Flame: “I literally give you the longest night of the year to obsess over me. How is that not commitment?”

A weather man doing a live TV cross during the winter solstice sunrise says, “And here comes the sun … technically. Would you believe it’s 0.0004% brighter than yesterday. Please contain your excitement.”
